Hello, everyone following this blog. ^.^
As the title states, my first draft of Whispers of Nowhere is complete. I’m actually late, announcing this. ^^; It’s been done since May 17th (and involved many an ambivalent tear being shed).
Since sitting idle is an impossibility for me, and since I wanted to take time away from it so that once I do start revising, I’ll be able to give 100%, I started plotting Book Two. Book Two shall be called (at least for the time being) “Fall of the Spectrum”. Naturally, the title only makes sense if you know something about the first book, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want the title to remain. I do. I really, really do.
Anyway, pointless rambling aside: I’ve also started a read-through of Whispers of Nowhere. This involves not editing at all–simply putting myself in the position of the reader, so that I can see what needs fixing with objective eyes. I’ve also had to keep myself from making notes as I do this, though I have made a couple minor ones. Once revisions officially begin, I have the utmost confidence I won’t forget what parts I wanted to fix or cut, altogether. In sum? I think I’m ready. I’ll finish the read-through first though, if for no other reason that it helps refresh my memory for things I need to expand on (or add) in Book Two.
So, that’s my update. Oh, I also have a few people going over the first draft to offer any advice they see fit, just in case I miss something during revisions myself.
I’ll be sure to keep you all in the know. 🙂 Thanks for reading!
