As this is the start of another month, I thought this would be a good time to update anyone interested on my writerly progress.
First of all, I’ve started on Chapter Twenty of “Fall of the Spectrum”. In theory, this means I have (approximately) ten chapters left before the first draft is done.
Secondly, I started on draft 3.2 of “Whispers of Nowhere” a few days ago. Yes, 3.2–because at least 20% of the story’s content went through edits and revisions before the first draft was even completed. Though I’ve calmed down considerably on the “edit as I go” and “go back and edit again and again until the screen’s a blur” fronts, I feel it both fair and necessary to point out that just because I’m on the technical “third draft”, doesn’t mean a number can be given to the amount of edits performed. It can’t, because I’ve literally lost count. 😛
Anyway, as a result of this next stage of revisions, research and outlining for the prequels has taken something of a backseat, though I won’t stop working on them, entirely.
I still hope to get FotS’s first draft done by May if possible, and to have WoN’s revisions done by fall.
Whether I’m being realistic or idealistic, we’ll see. Wish me luck. ^^;
(I’ve also added a tag to Fall of the Spectrum to the Home page.)
Well, that’s my update for now. I hope everyone’s doing well, and I look forward to sharing my updates with you.
